What a blast we had from Old Man Winter!! For some of us that have been out of power and internet it is so great to have it back.I know that we are all ready to get back on the Pickleball Courts and get rid of our cabin fever.

We have taken down the wind screens for the winter which will help us get more sunshine on the courts . This will enhance faster snow melt and faster drying of the courts.

This snow was deep and has a layer of ice on it from the freezing rain. Let’s give mother nature a chance to melt the snow before we do any shoveling. Shoveling in the past has created snow banks on the edge of the courts that continue to melt and keep the courts wet for a longer period of time. In that this snow was so heavy it may be best not to shovel for a few days to let the courts melt naturally. Once we are at a manageable amount of snow please use only the plastic shovels that are on the shed at the courts. If ice is on the courts do not try to chip the ice off in that it creates surface damage to the courts.

Bill Buchler has done a great job on organizing the Pickleball shed. He has installed hooks on the outside of the shed for hanging brooms, squeegees, and shovels. After use of these tools please replace them to the shed. Also after using towels to dry the courts please hang them to dry on the bench at the back of the courts. Keep the front of the courts and the social area clear. Thank You
