Just wanted to send a reminder that there are two BATT towels available for use when drying the courts. These are much more efficient for removing large areas of water than dragging towels clipped to the brooms. They are kept hanging under the covered area. You use them by dragging them behind you and sweeping them in an arc as you make a turn at the end of your line. You can watch a You Tube video for more tips. Once you have finished the initial water removal with these, then drying with beach/bath towels takes a lot less time.

I also wanted to ask that everyone please remember to close and secure all the umbrellas before you leave the courts. When I arrived today, every umbrella was open, but no one was there. This can cause serious damage if the wind kicks up during the day or during a storm. Thanks for helping, even if you didn’t open them while you were playing.

As per posted on signage at the courts, no dogs are allowed on the courts or in the social area. This has been our policy for a few years now. Please respect this and leave your pets at home.

This week’s progress to report on the court replacement project – poles for the fencing were measured, holes made and then they were cemented in. The asphalt ”trough” along the poolside fence has been filled in and will now cure. Electrical boxes for court 5 & 6 are visible and are safely outside the playing area. No progress yet on beginning to apply the surface layers.

And one request – I will be sending feedback to the POA Board regarding our desire to be involved as much as possible in the discussion regarding the design phase of the possible pool enhancement project. Since our facilities are side by side, we want to keep an eye open for any possible problems that MIGHT be caused including reflectivity, drainage, shadowing/shading, wind tunneling and added noise. Members of the Pickleball Club Board plan to be in attendance at the upcoming POA meeting on June 22. Please send your thoughts to the POA before June 17 or plan to attend the meeting as well.

Okay. That’s all for this week. Board meeting minutes from our Thursday meeting will be published soon.
