Following board discussion, including ideas from several members currently playing in venues outside CF, we will be enacting the following changes on and off the courts. It is our goal, to reduce physical contact between players and promote a healthier court side environment. In some cases these are subtle changes that can easily be made. In other instances, it will take a more conscious effort to change our habits. We hope that with everyone’s cooperation that these will just eventually become part of our pickleball culture in Connestee Falls.

As always, if you have suggestions or concerns, please feel free to contact a member of the board.

Best Health Practices On and Off the Court

In order to limit personal contact –

  • Replace the “good game” fist bump with a thumbs up or air high five.
  • Replace a handshake with a new member or unfamiliar partner with a small wave or paddle raise

Food and water –

  • We will not be removing the community water jugs at this point. However, we strongly encourage players to bring their own water in a container that is clearly MARKED WITH YOUR NAME
  • During socials and other club events, no community food will be shared. Individuals are welcome to bring food and beverages for their own personal consumption

Healthy environment –

  • As long as it is readily available, hand sanitizer will be available at the courts. However, we strongly urge those who would like to use this product to consider providing your own bottle in your equipment bag
  • If you feel sick, please stay home. Mostly likely you need the extra rest and it will help limit your exposure to others
