With the nice weather on Saturday we had all courts full and some folks waiting in the social area to play. It was great to see that level of participation! However, it has promoted me to send this eblast with two important reminders:

  1. After one of our club members was seriously hurt in a fall last year, our club enacted a NO PETS IN THE SOCIAL AREA policy. This is for both the safety and comfort of all members. Dogs tied to the fence on a long leash can become a serious tripping hazard. Even though we know you love your pets, please leave them at home when you come to play.
  2. Please be sure to immediately loudly call “BALL” when the pickleball begins to leave your court. Again this is both a safety and disruption of play policy. Do not try to run over and pick it up in attempt to keep it from going on the other court. Your presence on or near the other court can also not only be a distraction, but could cause a collision. Once a ball is retrieved, be sure that someone is looking for it to be returned before tossing or hitting it back to it’s home court.

As always, let’s continue to work together for the safety and enjoyment of everyone out there! Thanks for your attention to these matters.
