All–
Your board met earlier this month and these are the minutes from the meeting.
Financial report from Treasurer Debbie Dove (we are solid and pretty much in the same financial place we were this time last year), Tom Hunter gave the maintenance report of the courts, and we welcomed Michele Varian our new Social Chair. Chris Wunder also spoke about his special project (keep reading).
We discussed the idea of recycling at the courts. Rick Clark had mentioned he’d like to help spearhead this effort with the board’s blessing (and help). We unaminously agreed. Details to follow on how it will be pursued as this is something CFPOA does not provide for us and it would mean help from our community, not just the board.
Chris Wunder lead the glow in the dark pickleball discussion–we added that question to the survey that went out and will pursue it (or not) dependent on the community’s interest.
We are in a preliminary discussion to create a new website–stay tuned.
New Member Ambassador Debbie Dove is putting together a mixed doubles Round Robin in March (watch your email for details).
We discussed SignUpGenius and also asked for your opinion about it in the survey.
Huge success this winter with our Selkirk S1 ball purchase. Expensive balls, but guaranteed not to crack and thus far, we’ve only had ONE ball fatality! We are thrilled.
There is a new ball machine coming our way–it will be ordered in March. Much easier to use than the old one and will meet our member’s needs. Details on the ball machine to follow once it’s been ordered–head’s up, there will be a minimal cost involved and training before you can use it.
We are looking at revamping the back area under the open air structure to bring a little more unity to the space. We are only in discussion, nothing solid yet.
We decided to survey the membership and this week, the survey went out. If you didn’t get it, please check your email (could be in spam). A big thank you to Michele Varian for her excellent work on this.
Speaking of thank you’s, Debbie Dove cleaned up our email list. It was a huge, daunting task but we are now in a place where the numbers make sense–thank you again Debbie.
