Replacement project – at the Board meeting today it was announced that the pickleball court replacement project has been approved for the extra funding – from the $80k proposal last year to a final of $92k this year. The savings from the original quote of $120K was accomplished by using some of the CF vendors for supplies vs Whalen Company’s suppliers and having Spencer’s crew do a little more of the work. In Jim Whitmore’s GM News email today he stated – “We are also in the process of finalizing the schedule for the rebuilding of the four original pickleball courts and we hope to start the demolition process in early April with a completion date later in May.”

Pickleballs at the courts – As of today, there will only be Core (green with “Core” stamped on them) and Fuse (yellow) pickleballs available for use at the courts. Core pickleballs stand up to cold weather temperatures better than the Franklin pickleballs do. Inadvertently, Franklins have been making their way out of the shed and onto the courts, only to break easily. Franklins are only to be used once the temperatures turn warmer and remain that way. We are not at that point yet. At $2 per ball, even breaking a few a day adds up quickly. If you do not want to use either the Core or Fuse pickleballs supplied, you are welcome to bring your own.

All pickleballs should be returned to the baskets under the covered area when you have completed your games. Disinfectant spray is available in the tall gray towel cabinet since the bleach water buckets are not used at this time of year. And if you happen to see someone leaving the court with pickleballs, please stop them and remind them that community provided pickleballs should remain at the courts. Thanks for your help with this.

Sign Up Genius – Thanks to Sandra Lippy for helping many folks experiencing Sign Up Genius woes lately. As a reminder – it is extremely important that YOU ARE LOGGED IN before making any type of reservation. You will know you are logged in because you will see your initials (or picture) in a circle in the upper right corner of your screen. You also will not have to type your name or enter any contact information while making a reservation. Now is the time to be sure your account is in working order. Once we begin to have only two courts available for play, it will certainly get in your way.

Hope you have a great week – Cheryl Manzone cherylmanzone59@gmail.com
