The replacement courts are complete, but need a few days to cure. In the meantime, the entrance gates have been locked to keep individuals off the surface while it dries. We will be opening the new courts for play beginning on Friday, July 22 IN A MODIFIED VERSION UNTIL SIGN UP GENIUS CAN CATCH UP WITH OUR REAL TIME ON-SEASON SCHEDULE.
What does that mean? – We will still only be using Courts 1 & 2 on Wednesday, July 20 and Thursday, July 21. But people have and are continuing to make reservations at least three days ahead of time on Sign Up Genius. We want to honor all of those reservations. Therefore on Friday, July 22 and Saturday, July 23 if you have made a reservation on Sign Up Genius for Courts 1 & 2, YOU CAN KEEP THAT RESERVATION. In addition to that, on Friday, July 22 and Saturday, July 23 Courts 3-6 (all the new courts) will be available for WALK ON PLAY FROM 8AM-8PM ON A FIRST COME FIRST SERVED BASIS. Groups can play up to 2 hours. Your 2 hour time span begins when you enter the court to warm up.
Then, beginning on Sunday, July 24th, we will completely transition to the new on-season schedule. Attached you will find all the details and some exciting new offerings. You will no longer need to make a reservation on Sign Up Genius to attend any All Play session, only to make court reservations for privately arranged games and reserve a spot in an instructional Clinic. Please be sure to read through all the attached material for further explanation. As you will note, using the paddle holder system to determine who should be playing next will be critical. The format for using them can be found on the information board above each at the courts.
The pickleball Board collected member input and worked diligently to construct this new schedule. We thank all of you who sent us your ideas. Please know that we have done our best to honor everyone’s requests, however, it was not possible to fit all of them together. We feel that this is the best schedule though to include as many of those suggestions as we could. As we have always done, we will use the attached schedule for at least two weeks without any changes. Then we will ask for member input and reevaluate as needed.
If you have any questions regarding this eblast, please call Cheryl Manzone at 410-812-4664. It will be much easier to discuss this on the phone than through an email or text.
