Hello to everyone on this 1st of November. I have been away visiting my grandson in Texas for the last few weeks. It feels like so much has happened with pickleball in that time! As of today, November 1st, we will start our winter schedule. That means All Play everyday without breakout sessions for other levels. We hope that everyone will join us and that higher level players will coach more novice players as we all work to improve our skills. The new schedule is posted in the “calendar” section of this website. Just look for the button in the top right hand corner. Play schedules are also posted at the courts on the bulletin board.

We held our Halloween social – the first post-Covid social of the year. A big thank you to Betsey Merriken and her social committee – Jill Smith, AJ Longware, Andy Whitney, Jackie Hartson, Dawn Kuhn and Gail Evans. The event was well run and those in attendance had a great time while remaining safe and social distancing. The 50-50 raffle was won by Rene Wilson, who generously donated the proceeds back to the Student Scholarship Fund. That’s $360 from those who attended!! Thanks to all for such a great donation.

Our next social will be held on Wednesday, November 18th from 12:00 – 3:00. It will benefit Sharing House. We have decided to break this event into two smaller sessions of 25 people each so that folks might feel more comfortable attending. We will be collecting donations of cleaning supplies, both household and personal hygiene. Monetary donations are also being accepted. Please bring cash or make checks out to “Sharing House”. There will be a drive through/drop off area. Be sure to reserve your spot to attend on Sign Up Genius. Activities will include All Play, a 50/50 raffle and other fun events. We will again we using the parking lot as our gathering area, so that provides lots of room for spreading out.

Further THANK YOUS go out to Brad Caldwell and his maintenance crew for a marvelous job in keeping the courts cleaned during this fall leaf/storm season. They are always spiffy and ready for play! If you are interested in being trained on how to use the blower or leaf vac, please contact Brad.

So I think that brings everyone up to date on the current happenings at the courts. I will be quarantining for a bit, but hope to be back on the courts soon. Happy Fall Ya’ll!!
